# Hosting

Publish public pages as static files, or run a live site for shared accounts and
writable content.

Server deployment adopts a service you already operate. It needs repository access,
backups, and coordinated writers; it does not provision a new machine or create
your initial service. Start with the manual server setup in Publish when you do
not have a service yet.
